The Esplanade Hotel Fremantle, 96FM and WAMi Festival 07 presented
The Bon Scott Celebration Concert
Claremont Showgrounds, Sunday Feb 25th 2007.
The money needed to construct the Bon Scott Statue in Fremantle was raised!!!
Substantial donations were also made to Support Act Ltd to help musos in need and to WAMI.
Playing their own hits plus Bon era AC/DC classics were The Angels Band, Rose Tattoo and The Party Boys, featuring some of Australia's most highly regarded rock musicians plus former members of AC/DC and Status Quo and some extra special guests!!. Joining them were The Screaming Jets, Dave Warner's from the Suburbs, The Flairz and more.
Bon Scott is Australia's Greatest Rock and Roll Legend, loved by millions of fans and music lovers all over the world from his work as the singer of the Greatest Hard Rock Band of all time, AC/DC.
The statue honours the number one rock and roll front man of all time!!! (from UK Classic Rock magazine July 2004 issue). To raise the money needed some of Bon's Oz rock friends, contemporaries and younger artists influenced by AC/DC and Bon, performed at the concert at Claremont Showgrounds to celebrate Bon's life and to give his fans the opportunity to contribute personally to the funding of the statue.
